Thanks these helped me a lot! I didn't get a lot right on the first one quiz and in going back to see what i did wrong i finally realized what i have been doing wrong all along!

For one of the sentences birthday card was the D.O. i was just curious how because birthday is describing card so would it be just card?

That's a great question, Abby. I think it goes back to what I was saying in class about how some people include the article with the noun, and some people don't. It could be personal preference, or the person who made the site could just be wrong! I have seen it done both ways. Stick with what I taught you in class, though, because the traditional definition of a direct object is the "noun or pronoun that takes the action of the verb."
